Sewing Needle
From BMEzine Encyclopedia
A sewing needle is of course a metal rod with a loop on the end used to carry thread through pieces of material with the intent of joining them together. Most sewing needles can not be sterilized as they will rust, not being made of stainless steel or titanium.
They're not used much in body modification except sometimes as a play piercing item, and by grandmothers to pierce ears (often with the aid of an ice cube and potato).
For the purposes of flesh sewing or suturing, a suture needle is far more appropriate.
