A '''bondage bar''' (or '''slave barbell''', or many other names as well) is a [[barbell]] that has one or both of the beads drilled to accept a "door knocker" [[captive bead ring]] for decorative purposes. Functionally, they are no different from normal barbells and [[curved barbell]]s.

The name "bondage bar" comes from the fact that the ring appears to be something one could tie a rope to, but, in reality, the strength of the metal of the ring is such that it would take only a small amount of force to break the ring off the bead.
