Clit ring, speaking properly, refers to the Clitoral Piercing.

However, due to exceptionally poor knowledge of female anatomy by both men and women, when the term is used it nearly always refers to either Vertical Hood Piercing or a Horizontal Hood Piercing — and it is not uncommon for Inner Labia Piercing to be misidentified as clit rings.
