Corsetry, also known as tightlacing, is the wearing of tight waist garments (corsets) intended to sculpt the body into an increasingly extreme hourglass shape (with a number of variations depending on the style of corset). At its extremes, permanent changes including bone shift and redistribution of internal organs are acheived.

Because of the changes in blood flow and the pressures involved, many people find corsets heighly sensual and sexually pleasant, as well as being aesthetically pleasing.
