There are many different types of clamps with many different uses in the body modification community. These range from simple piercing procedure clamps to castration tools.

Some examples of common clamps are:

  • Mosquito clamps are small clamps which can be used for needle holding and support in piercing, as well as for alternative procedures such as tissue crushing on meatotomy. Mosquitos are available with both a curved and straight tip.
  • Septum clamps are clamps which form a tube, usually used when doing septum piercings, hence the name.
  • Foerster clamps are most commonly used for tongue piercings, but can be used for virtually any other piercing as well. They are available both with and without a needle slot.
