Even though Mick Noland (1953-1998) did not stand out as the world's best piercer (although he was good at what he did), his story is an inspiring lesson. At about the age of forty, he left his cushy career as a government employee to open Kansas City's only piercing-only studio, Extremus. He spent the last five years of his life doing what he loved, and died having brought the enlightenment and joy of piercing to thousands of people. He enjoyed his work as a body piercer and helped all who came to him with information and support. Mick is missed and loved by many.
