Released in 1994, The Tattoo was compiled with one of Australia's best known tattooists, Tony Cohen (tattooing constantly since 1969) supplying all the photographs and Geoff Gaylard and Christopher Wright editing the text.

The book contains photos in black and white and full colour of Australia's tattoo history as well as styles from around the world, a brief synopsis on tattooing and also Cohen's history.

Cohen's personal tattoo memorabilia collection is huge and the book reflects this with each page covered in pictures, tattoo's and information.
